| Connecting Somerset
 A
new incentive to encourage increased use of
Broadband and Internet facilities across
Somerset.
Somerset Broadband Programme works under
the auspices of the Somerset Strategic
Partnership, the Somerset Economic
Partnership and the Somerset ONLine
Partnership.
Grants are available to Somerset
businesses in two main areas:
- To assist in the take-up of
broadband by businesses throughout
Somerset who are not currently using
broadband, by a grant to cover 2
quarterly broadband rental payments.
(Approx. £66.00 per quarter)
- To assist in the creation and
further development of web-sites, a
matching grant of £500 - per web-site
development step*, subject to a maximum
of £1000.

ladder as

for web-browsing and e-mail
- 3.
Businesses with and using static
web-sites
- 4.
Businesses selling with web-sites
- 5.
Full e-business integration
Grants can cover the initial creation of
a web-site and/or developing the site from
(say) a basic site to a site incorporating
e-commerce i.e., incorporating a shopping
basket system whereby customers can order
on-line.
